MBBS: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery

MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. It is a Bachelor Degree program in Medicine and Surgery. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery are the two first professional undergraduate medical degrees. It is awarded by medical schools and universities in medicine and surgery. As the name suggests, these are two separate degrees that are combined in one domain as the Bachelor of Medicine and the Bachelor of Surgery. So, in practice, they are treated as one and awarded together. The duration of the MBBS course is five or six years including the duration of the internship.
Eligibility for MBBS:
The students who have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in the higher secondary level are eligible for this course. These students are required to qualify an Entrance Examination, which is conducted on a national level, state level and by the medical colleges, before pursuing this course.
