It is observed that class 7 NCERT textbooks are very straightforward in their words. All the chapters are explained in detail and for the quick revision of the chapter, questions are given at the end of each chapter which is very important from the point of view of your exam.

  • Neatness

Make sure that your handwriting is very neat and understand your English exam. After every paragraph or point, leave a line and then start another one. Be very careful with the alignment of your paper. Draw narrow margins on every page and each side of your answer sheet. Start your sentence after the line of the left margin and give little gaps between every word to maintain the neatness of your exam. Start every question from the page with a very clear and bold heading. If your question has sub questions, you can continue doing it on the same page from where you started. If a question has a choice between two parts, do only one of them. If you have two extra questions, you will not be awarded with extra marks. So, don’t you try to flaunt your knowledge by attempting all the questions having a choice between them. Write the serial numbers of the question very carefully.

  • Word limit

Write the answers of your question according to their marks. Most of the time the word which is mentioned in the main question itself. But, the students have to keep a tab on how many words they have to write according to the marks which are going to allot to them.

For example: For a one mark question, students are recommended to write only one word or one line and highlight to underline the important keyword of the answer.

For three marks questions, the word limit should be 20-30 words and similarly, for five marks questions, it should be 50-60 words.

Don’t try to exceed the word limit of your answers as some examiners are very particular about word limits. Only overdo the word limit if an important point is left from the answer. Also, don’t forget to underline the important keyword of the answer along with the extended sentence to let the examiner know the reason for the excess words.

  • Revise, Revise and Revise

After completing your exam, spend the last 15 minutes or the remaining time revising your exam. Revision is a very important step after completing your exam so when you are preparing for your English exam, you should primarily pair 15 minutes from your time management schedule for revising your paper.

What is revision?

revision is the process of going through your answer sheet and double checking every answer in order to prevent the chances of mistakes. Revision is not just swiping and turning the pages of your answer sheet but also reading questions and contemplating if your answer justifies the question asked from your examiner.

How can you do revision?

Section A of your English exam includes one unseen passage and one extract of an unseen story. So for revising this section, you must give a quick read to both the passages, see what the question is asking, and then observe your answer. Most of the students add extra lines of the unseen passage in order to make the answer look long. This is a wrong practice and should not be done in an English exam. Your English exam is already lengthy and you should not make it more by adding up extra unnecessary information. Check all the spellings and correct if you have made any mistakes. Draw a line after every answer with a pencil and a scale.

Section B of your English exam includes all the writing skills that you have practiced in your class like letter writing or notice writing. Check the formats thoroughly and read each in every line to correct the spelling mistakes if you have any. See if you have concluded every writing skill properly. Discard every line which distracts the exam from the topic. Make a box whenever necessary and end your answer with a line made using pencil and scale.

Section C is all about the grammar of your syllabus, as the correct form of verbs for jumbled words. you have to be extra careful while checking your answers as sometimes in a hurry, you might have written the wrong word first or entirely wrong answer. Double-check this portion to secure your marks. While checking the verb forms, remember all the verb rules and check your answer accordingly.

Section D includes all the literature portions such as chapters in poems of your NCERT textbooks. Check the word limit and spelling mistakes of all the answers. This is one of the most expected and scoring Section officer exams so you have to leave no chances of mistakes. Check if you have attempted both the questions given in the choice. If you have done so, scribble when you are least confident about it. See if your answer justifies the question and try to remember what was written in the chapter orbit the poet wanted to convey.

There is a question where you have to use your creativity for answering. Like if there is a connector in your chapter and he/she goes through an incident, the examiner will ask you what you would do if you were in their shoes. Check that question and see if you have written anything controversial, negative, or wrong. Draw a line at the end of every question and see if you have numbered all the questions correctly.
