A lot of people know the benefits of staying healthy; and yet, so few people actually take the steps needed to do it. Implementing healthier habits into your day-to-day routine can feel daunting. However, you don’t have to overhaul your way of being to improve your health.
Usually, making a few and seemingly simple changes is all it takes to live a better life that not only healthier but also stress-free. Get more sleep
The importance of proper rest cannot be overemphasized. Getting a healthy amount is sleep is one of the most important things that you can do to improve your health and wellbeing. Failure to get sufficient sleep not only weakens your immune system but severely affects your quality of life.

It is also recommended that you unplug from your devices at least an hour before bed, which will send a signal to your brain that you are ready to sleep. Make exercise a priority
We get it- exercise isn’t the easiest thing to do especially when you are a beginner. However, if you really want to change your health, then you need to make working out a priority. Keeping active can help you avoid diseases such as dementia, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and some types of cancer.
Being more active can help to improve every facet of your life whether that’s your cognition and sense of wellbeing to your confidence and stress levels. A lot of individuals are afraid of working out because it is hard. However, you don’t have to go all-in when you are first starting.
The trick is to make small gradual changes. Start by breaking up sedentary activities that you have become used to. For instance, instead of taking the elevator, take a power walk instead. Rather than watch your kids play, join them! It also helps to stick to an exercise regimen when you pick an activity that you love. You may be eating, but are you picking nourishing foods? Processed convenience foods may make sense at the time, but they are not doing your body any favors. Drink more water

If you fail to drink sufficient amounts of water, the physical impact is almost immediate; fatigue, irritability, brain fog, and constant headaches. Not drinking enough water can also affect your overall health severely leading to a whole host of issues including UTIs, digestive problems, and even kidney failure.
Drinking more water will help you feel energized so that you can easily complete your tasks without needing an afternoon nap. Studies have found dehydration can make you feel sluggish and knock you off your game. One of the best ways to deal with stress is by working out. It doesn’t have to be a super active workout; something as simple as meditating or practicing mindfulness can considerably affect your health. Boosting the hours that you sleep is also something that can get your stress levels in check. As always, it helps to be open and honest about your feelings, thoughts and needs whether that means opening up to family, friends, or a professional.
It can take time before healthy habits stick. As such, be patient and do not be too hard on yourself. Making lifelong lifestyle changes will require some commitment. But when you stick with it, it will all have been worth it.
