Six teams have won the title in the last 12 ICC Cricket World Cups played so far. Australia is the most productive team in the World Cup, five times winning the competition, with two more times competing.
The first two tournaments were dominated by West Indies, and twice also by India. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have each won a single tournament. Sri Lanka (1996) and India (2011), when they co-hosted the tournament, are the only hosts to win.
