History

USB was developed in 1994 by a group of seven companies. Compaq, DEC, IBM, Microsoft, Intel, NEC, and Nortel. It was developed to make easy to connect external devices to PC. An USB device can be used across multiple platforms like Windows, Mac, and Linux.

How to connect USB device with Computer

It is very simple to connect USB device with computers. Just insert the USB device in the computer?s USB port and it will detect the device and start working. It does not ask for rebooting your computer when inserted. Universal Serial Bus Drive is the most commonly used USB device.
